Most violence is designed to NOT cause damage

Social violence is designed to NOT cause damage to the tribe. It’s OK to sacrifice 1 or 2 individuals now and then, but the tribe must remain strong.

Witness this news article:

“dozens of violent youths clashed using bats, knives and even machetes”

And the damage?

“At least one person was stabbed.”

Maybe it’s a case of under-reporting (as opposed to the usual sensationalist reporting), but if you have dozens of people with bats and machetes having a go at each other, then there should be plenty of blood and dead people lying around.

If only 1 person’s been stabbed, then it was probably a Monkey Dance.

MacYoung and Miller are spot-on, once again.
